CHANDRA SHEKHAR

Co Founder and Academic Innovator

A vibrant leader, and co founder of The Design Venue, he is a qualified Interior Designer, with over 15 years of experience in

experiential design, strategy development & aligning project to business needs.His multi-faceted approach for a design ensures holistic view of projects with an aesthetic appeal & user friendly solutions. At The Design Venue and The Design Club he combines his professional experience to bridge the gap between knowledge with practice in his teaching. He also encourages students towards inculcating the hobbies such as travelling, photography, drawing, painting, sculpture for their step-wise development towards creativity and critical thinking.

KAVYA

Co Founder and Creative Head

She is an architect, associate professor and heads – The Design Venue. She has over a decade of practical experience in

Architecture, Interior design, and teaching. She was part of the design team which won the prestigious “Visual Merchandising and Retail Design Award” Her paper presentation on the topic “Conceptual Thinking and Built Reality” was highly appreciated. She was also a panelist chosen by the All India Design Fraternity and KPMG to rank the design colleges across India including IIT’s, NID and NIFT. She has passion and patience for teaching and mentoring, and continues to pursue the adventures of the built environment, searching and researching beyond the boundaries of time and space.

AJAY CHETAN

Design Thinker and Photographer

Ajay Chetan,is an automobile engineer and a design thinker. He has won various national competitions including

“Wheelz on Fire for two years in a row. He is also interested in how technology and modern life is changing design education, which is something that he tries to deal with every day. He has been an integral part of The Design Venue and The Design Club in preparing the guidance/ study material in the form of The Design Venue App which is an innovative mix of engaging videos with mock tests which give in depth analysis, bringing out creativity and out of the box thinking.

Graphhic Designer and Artist

He is a graphic designer and artist with great interest in teaching. At The Design Venue and The Design Club, Thejus tries to

bridge the gap between art and craft, drawing inspiration from a variety of sources and merging different techniques with conventions.

Meghashree K N

Architect & Design Co-Ordinator

She Co ordinates all institutional collaborations and workshops .

She has a background in Fine Arts, Interior Design and Photography. \Megha is keen to use her expertise in supporting students during their journey here. At The Design Venue and The Design Club, She strongly believes in the value of interdisciplinary design and tries to bring all of these things into her professional work and teaching. She has 7 years of experience in teaching and believes in making the process of learning meaningful and interesting.

Keerthana A V

Accessory and Lifestyle Designer

She has inculcated the habit of Creative and Design Thinking in the students encouraging them towards logical thinking process for practical but creative solutions.

Design is a process of finding solutions. As a designer, she believes design is human centric, ergonomic, novel, clean, sustainable, positive. She practice design after graduating from National Institute of Fashion Technology, with a bachelor’s degree in fashion and lifestyle accessories design. She has been an active member of the design community for the last 5 years where She has designed bags to promote work for people with disabilities, designed packaging, also designed range of table ware accessories as an intern. Also have worked at Titan designing functional accessories such as watches and have recently moved into designing luxury furniture and interior spaces.

I have been with The Design Venue for two years with a modern and holistic approach to design education which has helped many students secure top ranks in leading design schools for undergraduate and post graduate education.
I have a modern and holistic approach to design thinking and believe that design, at the end of day, is about problem solving.

Prathiba Dwarakanathan

Design Educator and Visualizer.

Prathibha is an academic professional with more than a decade of experience as an educator. As an educator, she is passionate

about the need to involve students in thinking independently, critically and creatively. She has been involved in teaching mathematical skills, especially critical, logical and abstract thinking skills. Prathiba has a masters in engineering. She has been associated and an integral part of The Design Venue from its inception.

Ar. Devi Syam

Architect, Urban Designer and Researcher

She is an Architect, Urban Designer and heads – The Design Venue Trivandrum branch. She is a gold medalist in Urban design

from VTU university, Karnataka. She has published a research paper on the topic ” Water and Society: Expanding the blue revolution ” in the context of Vypeen, Kerala. She has a decade of expertise in residential, commercial, hospitality and short/long range planning projects in Bangalore and Goa. She was a visiting Faculty for Urban Design in Goa College of Architecture. She is currently freelancing and is also working as an Asst Professor in Marian College of Architecture and Planning, Trivandrum. At The Design Venue, she uses her professional experience to bring out the creativity in students and guide them to achieve their dream creative career.

Nimmi Elizabeth

Fashion Communication Enhancer

Nimmi Elizabeth is an alumnus from NIFT, Bangalore and is currently freelancing in the key domains of Strategy Design,

Branding and Graphics, Content writing, Space Design and Visual Merchandising. She freelanced for many start up brands like Garden Rose, Fashion Femina, Bliztec and Ceres Ecosystems. Coming from a background of Fashion Communication, she has explored multiple domains such as styling, photography, graphic design, design methodology etc. At the Design Venue, she is the creative head and is the mentor for design and fashion aspiring students. She uses her experience in NIFT to prepare students for competitive design exams , studio situation tests and interviews.

Syam Vasudev

Fine Art Scholar and Design Enthusiast

Syam Vasudev has an experience of over 40 years and is an active member of Lalitha Kala Academy. He is a multifaceted Artist

who works in the different styles and mediums like water colour, Acrylic, Oil painting, mural, etc. He opened his Art school, ‘Chitrakala’, in 2009 to promote art among youth and elders. Currently, the school has nearly 50 students ranging from 3 to 60. An annual Art exhibition is conducted in the month of June to exhibit student’s work. Ar Syam Vasudev is an integral part of Design Venue, Trivandrum. He uses his decades of experience to bring out the creative skills of students and equip them to face Design and Architecture competitive exams

Shivani Vyas

Design Influencer and an Architect

She is a first class graduate from School of Architecture, Indore and a diploma holder in fine arts. Shivani extends the idea

of merging disciplines by trying to blur the line between art and design. In her association with the Design Venue and The Design Club, she has contributed significantly in innovating the methodology of teaching and learning. She believes in ‘hands on experience’ and strongly advocates ‘learning by doing’.

She is a graduate from School of Architecture. After graduation she has been actively involved with the design supervision and
